Hessel, on the shores of the beautiful Les Cheneaux Islands in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, has been the home to the Festival of Arts since 1975.
The Festival is held in conjunction with the Antique Wooden Boat Show in Hessel, and draws crowds of thousands annually.
A local jury selects participants based on media, quality, and originality.
The resulting show features up to 70 participants, offering a widely diverse selection of quality work whose media range from jewelry, painting, ceramics, fiber, glass, mixed media and others for Festival goers.
Some work reflects local themes of our natural splendor, Native American culture and boats and boathouses, while others reflect the great quality and craftsmanship of our artists. |
